I’m Kathleen Donohue, shaper of words, crafter of stories. I chose the name Wordsmythy for my writing and editing shop because I like what it evokes. I imagine myself shoveling cold iron letters into a glowing forge, pulling out the molten words and hammering them into shape. Only, my hammer is a pen, my forge a notebook. Or maybe my hammer is a keyboard and my forge is a laptop. But enough with the tortured metaphors. Let’s talk about what I can do for you.

As a writer, I’ve written articles on a wide array of topics for print magazines, newspapers and websites. As a marketing writer, I’ve written hundreds of commercial scripts (B2B and B2C), print ads for national campaigns and countless blocks of catalog copy.

As an editor, I’ve taken anecdotes from non-writers (for instance, classic car enthusiasts or historic homeowners) and turned them into full-fledged, engaging stories worthy of publication in national magazines. I’ve also edited several books  for content, clarity, interest, and of course proofing and creating indexes where needed.

As a storyteller, I write play and film scripts, short stories, children’s books, some of them collaborative projects. At the moment, I’m simultaneously working on a book on wine and a script for a musical comedy, including song lyrics, for a local dinner theater. Both are a fun challenge. And I do love a challenge.
